Feb 3 near Salton Sea and (4th) on to Benson

we went to the area famous Salvation Mtn and Slab City.  Salvation Mountain is a man's labor of love for Jesus.  The ultralight was later seen shading a camper in Slab City

On to Slab City,   This used to be a military base that was moved, leaving slabs convenient for squatters to set up camp and live off the grid.  Most folk we saw looked like hippies.  Th following are some of the more elaborate places

Part of the business district
Where is no utilities, but we did see a water delivery truck

Sunny Bono Salton Sea National Wildlife Preserve

Next day (2/04) we passed near the Mexican border

Here's the fence

Passed plenty of big sand dunes
Went through border check points on I-8 and later I-10

Camped at Gila Bend
