We camp at Hinton KOA.  Don't like that they advertise WIFI, but we can't get any.  From now on, use hot spot instead of selecting a campground for WIFI

May 28 Golden to Lake Louise and Jasper

I (Bill) am walking Dottie along the river trail as on the days before.  Just past our camper and through the trees a group of towns people are having an organzation breakfast.

On Trans Canada Hwy past Yoho NP to Lake Loise.  Weather much more promising today on the mountains as well as down on the Kicking Horse River

We stopped at Spiral Tunnels and were fortunate enough to see a train pass here. As trains pass through Kicking Horse Pass and across the continental divide, they pass through two spiral tunnels. We saw the train below going into the tunnel left.  The tunnel turns clockwise inside the mountain.  Then we see the front of the train emerge underneath before the back of the train enters the tunnel

Banff National Park's Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada with its awesome forested and glacial mountain setting is one of the world's lake view destinations.

Bridal Veil Falls.  Stopped here soon before reaching Mt Athabasca

It's snowing on the glacier and mountains as we arrive at the Columbia Icefields Discovery Center, Also the last tour had left, so we proceeded North to Jasper to find camping accommodations

Tangle Falls, South of Tangle Mtn and several miles north. The numerous flows across the falls tangle together as they fall.

Passing endless Chain Ridge.  There is about 10 miles of this

We reached Whistlers Campground near Jasper before dark.

May 27: Lake Village back to Golden

We returned to the Lake Louise visitor center to look at the displays.  There was much geological history information, but we liked the stuffed animals best

The Bow River flows through Lake Louise Village.  We had driven down the Bow River yesterday.

Lunch at Lake Louise Village included poutine, a dish of fries with cheese and gravy popular in Canada. We will see some restaurants with the poutine enhanced several different ways, typically with meat.

The weather was overcast and rainy (socked in) so rather than try to see this glacial lake, we decided to have lunch and head back to Golden Municipal Park.  This campground had WIFI, which Louise did not, and it had better showers.  We basically figured it a better place to spend the rest of a rainy day and night than Louise Campground.

Beth walking Dottie by a stream feeding a small lake.  Not foggy here like at Louise.

Before we got back to Golden we stopped at Faeder Lake, which is uniquely clear greenish-blue.
