Nov. 23 Lexington to Chester

Stayed at Natural Bridge KOA last night. Arrived home about 2:30 PM. Great trip and happy to be back.

Nov. 22 Cannonsburg, KY to Lexington/Natural Bridge, VA

We took 60 through much of WVa. This photo was taken east of Boomer. New River Campground near here would be a great place to visit.

Nov. 21 Crawfordsville, IN to Cannonsburg, KY

No photos. The KOA we stayed at was about vacant. Nobody else dumb enough to be camping this time of year.

Nov. 20 Springfield, IL to Crawfordsville, IN

The Lincoln Library is operated by th State of IL. It has numerous displays portraying Lincoln's personal life and challenges. Here Is a model of the White House with notable characters of the day

Picture taking was prohibited throughout most of the library. They do have one of the five known slightly differing versions of the Gettysburg address that Lincoln composed. Two are in Washington DC.

Nov. 19 Bevier, MO to Springfield, IL

We had overnighted at Shoemaker RV in Bevier. Pretty quiet out back with three graveyards.

Percival, IA to Bevier, MO Nov. 18

We had over-nighted at Sapp Bro's Truck in Percival. Having missed seeing the Missouri River the night before, we looped back across it and back and then south toward MO on the IA side of the river.

We had visited Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge near Mound city MO. Having seen much wildlife from roadside there a couple years we ago we decided to return. There were huge flocks of migrating geese.

Amazing how the flock looks darker when air born.

Looks like Canada goose on muskrat mound.

Ogallala, NE to Percival, IA (east ot Nebraska City, MO) Nov 17

Near Ogallala, there were frequent small communities with these grain loading facilities along the RR tracks

Bigger towns had bigger facilities and John Deere

And most of the towns had a footbridge across the tracks. Pretty fancy. Most towns had a fancy foot bridge across the tracks.

We also saw:

Bailed corn silage.

corn stored outside.

Rawlins, WY to Ogallala, NE November 16

We drove from Rawlings WY (east of Cheyenne) to Ogallala NE. I think it was at a campground in Rawlings that the main building at the campground had water and showers, but water at sites was off to prevent frozen pipes. A little frost formed on a couple of our RV windows which were covered by insulated drapes that night.

Delco ID to Salt Lake City UT

On the way to Salt Lake City We stopped for fuel in Tremontin, UT and ate here. Excellent.

We stayed at Salt Lake City KOA. Nice place and very autumny.

We attended the Thursday evening rehearsal of the Tabernacle Choir in Temple Square. We don't agree with Mormon theology, but the choir was great, even in rehearsal.

Pendleton, OR to Delco, ID - Nov 12-13

We Left Pendleton headed south on 84. Here is some typical scenery near LeGrande

Nov 13 we awoke at campground near Caldwell,ID and traveled along the Snake River.. Near Tuttle ID is Malad Gorge State Park which includes Devils Washbowl. It is on a small tributary of the Snake River. In spring the gorge fills to the walls and is the venue for serious kayaking, Check YouTube for videos.

Also near here is Twin Rivers bridge, an international venue for year round BASE jumping. BASE jumping from the Snake River bridge is fun to watch and on good days, somebody goes off every 10-20 minutes.

We camped at Village of the Trees Campground in Delco ID and enjoyed this sunset across the Snake River. A nice campground, but it was COLD in Idaho!

Pendleton, OR October 25 - November 12

We spent 2 1/2 weeks in Pendleton enjoying the company of Will, Christina, and William (aka Taterbug). Bill and I had the opportunity to keep William all day several days, or we picked him up early from daycare the rest of the time. He is a precious little fellow and we were blessed that we could spend so much time with him. I'm posting many pictures we took. As I look back, I realize we should have taken more. We were in Pendleton on Halloween, so there are pictures of Tate wearing his costume. He LOVES cows!
