North of Kalowna, BC we pass more lakes and agricultural enterprise
Wood Lake is on this side of the isthmus and Kilamalka Lake on the far side
Away from the Lake Kilamalka is elevated with interesting contours
On the promontory, Beth spots her dream house, perfectly situated
End of the lake near Vernon
.
We approach Glacier National Park BC. Along the road, we notice the yellow flowers: dandelions frequently form a yellow roadside carpet here. A sign says Mt MacDonald ahead. Glacial National Park
.Mountains become more rocky. those on left called The Camels
More Camels
We surmise the pathways (above) down the mountains are past avalanche tracks.
Avalanche tunnels that we drive through suggest the weather is much different here in winter
We overnighted at Golden Municipal Campground on the Kicking Horse River. Good place except Canadian Pacific RR tracks are on opposite bank. Train passage noise was not bad: no horns.
