May 24 Flathead River and to Cheney (from Montana into Washington)

With the choice of driving by Coeur d'Alene, we chose a less publicized route and were amply rewarded.  From Missoula, MT we drove north-west along Montana Rt 200 and the Flathead River.

We found an quiet and scenic picnic spot

looking northwest
Further along Rt 200, I think this is still the Flathead

We crossed into Idaho along the north of Lake Pend Oreille, pronounced pend-o-ray.
Saw ads offering dinner, sightseeing, wine tasting cruises and private charters for weddings, business and overnight trips on this - Idaho's largest lake.

We ate at Frank's a fancy train car restaurant in Spokane.  We thought the food was OK and the overall experience worth it.

Then we camped at Peaceful Pines in Cheney, WA.  It was a reasonably priced, clean, friendly park with good wifi and cable, clean showers/restrooms., Natural atmosphere, for that "camp-out" feeling.
